So, I got the (VERY) rough copy of the Fiddler on the Roof script from Savannah, today.
Page 134-5 is missing.
Why must this be a sign, you ask?
Well, I plan on auditioning for Hodel, the second oldest daughter.
These two pages contained the scene with her solo song in it.
So, I guess it's that time of year again, huh? Hard to believe.
2008 has been the most eventful...and memorable...of my 17 years of life. I starred in my first musical, got my first taste of college(ish) at a week long choral camp at Montevallo, sang in front of over 10,000 people, sat front row in a Raven concert, touched her 3 times, was told I am "off the chain", started my senior year, tripled the number of states I've been to, survived who knows HOW many hours on a bus with less-than-likable people, finally visited NYC, saw two Broadway musicals...on Broadway. I mean, wow.
It's been a lot to take in.
I can't tell if I've changed or not, but people have told me I have.
Whether it's good or bad, I've no idea.
I've tackled the first semester of my last year of high school, ever.
One. More. Left. Gotta take it all in. Here we go.
I have a feeling 2009 is going to be even better. :)
Meanwhile, I FINALLY got my Senior pictures out of the way today.
That leaves only a...few...more things to do. What are these things, you ask? Well, I'll tell you. I've got to prepare a 90 second monologue for scholarship auditions at Montevallo, prepare 16 bars of a song (that shows both range and movement, at that) for the same audition, prepare a song for Fiddler on the Roof auditions for Footlights, study the script for that audition, learn two songs for voice festival, eventually learn songs for recital...insert random Beta activity...also, Drama Club activity...then there's this little thing called GRADUATION I've gotta get done..
Bring. It. On.
P.S. - Andy has officially reached 5 feet. I'm running out of time (and height) to use my big sister looming skillz. He's only 1/4 of an inch away. Half an inch and he's got me beat. Already. He's ELEVEN. *sigh* Of course, they say he'll reach 6'5", no problem. Probably going to go over that. Oy vey.
No, I haven't seen it - I've heard conflicting reviews...and it looks like it's really long...ha ha! The latest movies I've seen are Twilight and Marley and Me...there are a lot I want to see, though, some of them for another time.
Er, make that $85 worth of iTunes gift cards.
So. Much. New. Music. Gotta love it!
Meanwhile, I just finished Skin by Ted Dekker, making it my second (and..a half) book of his to read. And I've loved them! Granted, Skin is, by far, the best out of the...two and a half. (I read House, which was a project written by both Dekker and Frank Peretti. 'Twas also good.) It was reminiscent of the Saw movies, but with it's own little twist.
Speaking of that twist, at the end of the book I actually exclaimed, "WHAT?! But...they...and...it...WHOA!" Seeing as how my parents were in bed, they weren't too thrilled, but seriously. The guy threw me for a loop. A big one. Forrealz. I honestly did NOT see it coming. Y'know how in some books the foreshadowing's a little on the obvious side and somewhere in the back of your mind you know what's gonna happen? Or at least have an itty bitty inkling of what's going to happen? Yeah. Not the case here. Wow.
Unfortunately, the Books-a-Million I went to in H'ville only had those two books of his. I searched and searched the aisle where "Dekker" should have been, but to no avail. I guess I'll have to purchase the rest online. And you KNOW I'll be wanting to read the rest of his books.
I've run out of Dean Koontz books that interest me. Same goes for Stephen King. And whenever I finish the James Rollins book I purchashed, I'll no longer have any of HIS to read, unless of course he writes another one. So, Dekker's my only source as of now. Haha.
I don't know what's going to happen when I run out of authors/books to read.
The books that interest me are so strange; I'll have to run out of them eventually.
That...was a lot about books. Oh well.
I've run out of things to say.
See y'all in a week!
I just finished "Ender's Game". It was also one of those "whoa" endings. There was a 6-year old who killed people, but I don't know if overall it would fit into the "Stephie" genre.
Before that was To Kill a Mockingbird, which is excellent. After that was Beetle the Bard, but it was more like magazine length, so I really don't count it. Disappointing!
