I can't believe it is already 2009, and it really seems like things are changing for us:
----I have been working on the same project for 16 months now (Aflac IT Building) and we'll be done in March
----The Mauck family is moving back to Texas, they will be missed
----The church in Auburn will be looking for a new preacher, and we better get started
----My Brother is getting married
----Jana and I will be staying put, Lord Willing, and not moving
----I'm dieting, for a little while at least
----More to come I'm sure...

vicki	OK Matt....since you asked....I am dieting too. But ..Hey? what else is new??? I am glad you and Jana are staying put....still wish it was in Birmingham though.....Don't you get tired of hearing me harp on that??? Thats what mother-in-laws are for ...right??
bigdeborah	1. I'll have a new niece in May 2. my cousin in getting married in June :) 3. we are supposed to be moving in Sept-ish, but no clue where!
billiam	You should probably move back to Texas. God Bless the preacher-hunt.
werdna	I'm a dad which is awesome. Come visit when you guys are back in the area. Hopefully we can make it down there sometime soon.
lucky_7	I'm graduating from highschool and starting college...Yikes! And too bad you and Jana couldn't just follow the Mauck family back here. ^_^

Family

The last 10 days have been filled with fun, food and family. We went to Birmingham and Houston. Saw my niece, nephew, Mom, Brother and tons of cousins, aunts and everyone in between. It was freezing when we were in Birmingham and 80 degrees in Houston. We gave my nephew a Busy Bible which I would recommend to anyone with little kids as a cool book to let them play with in church that is educational and quiet because it is made of fabric. I'm excited about our new video camera and we're continuing to bank money and save for a new computer sometime soon as ours is 7 years old and needs to be replaced soon.

Now we are heading to a cabin in North Georgia that some friends of Jana's own and are letting us stay in for the week. It will be nice to have some quiet time.

maucknot	Oooh, I like the sound of that!! But that's actually not true. If Ball State loses, you win. If Ball State wins, I win. But if Texas loses tonight (and I don't see that happening), Tyler wins.
maucknot	I was rooting against teams I picked the last three games: ECU, Alabama and Buffalo. It's funny how this pick'em thing works with the confidence factor. Alabama's loss crushed a few guys because of the amount of points placed on them -- and who would have known Andre Smith was going to be suspended for that game when the picks were made?

Happy Holidays

Jana and I will be heading to Birmingham tonight and staying through Monday to have Christmas with her family.

I work Tuesday.

We leave Tuesday afternoon or early Wednesday to head to Houston to see my Mom/family for Christmas. Kyle (my brother) is riding down with us. We're heading back Saturday.

I'll fill you in on the rest once we iron it down for sure.

This weekend I was pretty hot about this hire, and I'm still unhappy. He was a great defensive coordinator at Auburn and Texas. he appears to have been a pretty bad head coach at Iowa State (5-19). He better get an awesome offensive coordinator.

I'm trying to come around on this one, but I'm having a hard time.


maucknot	Aren't we all. Loved Tubs.
billiam	I think it's difficult to judge him on two years at a dumpy school noone's going to in the Big Ten. However, that means his impact should be immediate if he has better players (and he will at Auburn). I'm just pumped about our pick.
rica5219	yeh I'm not happy.
mrsnerdley	Matt, until Auburn goes 9-3. 10-2, 11-1 you can't possibly come around on this one. There is no evidence to support this guy.....None. They hired one of the worst possible coach they could have hired.
dirk	I'm interested to see how he does. It will probably be a difficult year. The positive thing (for your new coach) is that Auburn had a down year and the expectations aren't set real high. Unlike with West Virginia, where they were on the brink of going to the national champtionship game last year. Our coach has been under a lot of pressure this year. Every bad call, every bad game, fans are pretty much wanting to throw him under a bus (some still are). I'm definitely not trying to say WVU is superior to Auburn by any means. I definitely don't believe that. Just that expectations do play a factor in having patience with a new coaching system.
werdna	My issue is not with the coaching its with the recruiting. How does he go against the other big name coaches in the SEC? I'm not upset about it though. Results will determine my like or dislike. Interesting choice though.

So Much Fun

For those of you that are married, do you ever have one of those days or weeks with your spouse where you feel and act like you have gone back in time? I think Jana and I have had one of those weeks. Monday we went walking at the collusium, and there were so many people acting really odd that we started laughing and pretty much couldn't stop. I felt like we were 19 and back in college. There have been many other things this week too where we have just gone back to an earlier time, a younger love I suppose. Jana is such a wonderful wife. We've been married 4.5 years and it gets better all the time!

melissakaye	Not near often enough! I think it's good to make it a point to just relax & go back in time every once in awhile.
