serena	I'll go first... when we first got married he got up in a congregation where he was the visiting preacher and told them we had a "shotgun wedding." When I asked him why he said that he said because we got married fast. He didn't get the whole with child before marriage implication. Love you!
textilet	Did you read my recent post where I gave a family from our congregation our leftovers instead of the real casserole I made for them? You know what brotherly love is? They ended up eating both of them! No hard feelings!
simon_says	I once used sweetened condensed milk instead of evaporated milk to make vegetable chowder. I was 12 and I didn't know there was a difference between the two. My grandfather has made fun of me since. He even gave me five cans of evaporated milk for my wedding present. He's not very funny.

serena	We started watching this show when Treehouse had it on up north. And for like 5 years I can't figure out what she is. It wouldn't bother me except the other friends are obviously some type of animal.

mereme	Thanks for your input - I wanted to keep it more of a "story" because a true outline, complete with points and numbers, does sometimes just become a list to memorize. It really does work to keep the outline in the forefront of our minds - and the kids' too, of course. ;)

Two Amazing Guys

The two evangelists we have here are amazing. Both guys in 2008 picked up part-time jobs teaching for our local JVS. They were great jobs with flexible hours, good pay and some benefits. For us, it was a great chance to save up for the baby and pay of some remaining debt.

Yet for 2009 both of our evangelists QUIT those jobs because they felt like the edification of the church and evangelism were suffering. I tend to agree with them. The over all zeal of the group had leveled off, our unity was lacking, and a lot of opportunities were passing us by because of woldly distractions.

The lesson I learn from this- things that we sacrifice for God may not always be sinful things, just things that make our service less effective. Those jobs weren't sinful, but for those guys to walk away says that they believe God will provide and they are committed to growing and strengthening the kingdom with all their might and ability.

It makes me wonder what do I hold onto that hinders me from being all that I can for God? What "liberties" do I refuse to give up that keep me from just exploding with good fruit?

Sacrifice its where its at. I'm proud of our guys for making a big sacrifice. They've inspired me to do the same.

pooky	I've been thinking about this a lot lately. I'm proud of Dan, Mark, and several other members that are making open efforts to do better. I know we all can do more...I appreciate their examples in taking it to the extreme.

pooky	I didn't get your message until after 10. I wasn't sure if that was too late to call or not. Anyway, the most I've had in class was 9...but that was just once. Everyone was there + 1 visitor.

textilet	Does school start on Monday? We're not ready for our Tuesday start. We had lots of plans, but we've been SO lazy. It has been what we needed in many ways, but we'll feel better if we get a few things accomplished before we get back into the swing of things.
