Hello all! I hope everyone is as excited as I am about Christmas. Soon most of us will be with our families and friends and enjoying this great time of year with all the food (yum) and beutiful things.
Well, you're probably wondering about the title above. I'm painting the walls around my cabinets red in my kitchen, but so far all I've done is prime it. Since red paint can be very aggravating, the guy at Home Depot suggested using a tinted primer. Right now I have a gray and Pepto Bismol pink kitchen. Doesn't really make you want to eat.... then again, maybe I should keep the pink. Well, hopefully by tomorrow I'll have a gray and red kitchen. I hope to post pics on facebook soon, so check those out.
Working on my Christmas cards, and getting ready for a Christmas Party/Ornament Exchange for the ladies at church on Friday that's at our house. I only have a couple of presents left to buy, and they shouldn't be any trouble to find.
So how exactly is red paint aggravating and how does the primer change this? It was so fun getting to see you and Kev for Christmas! My favorite part is always getting to see everybody. I particularly like seeing family at a lake vacation home. ;) And I have to admit, I like give giving/receiving too.
Okay, so I really don't have anything new to say... but anyway. We are pretty much still doing the same old stuff: painting the house and doing a few upgrades here a there. I feel like I've been painting forever, but the trim takes so long!
I've got my Christmas decorations up and ready for a couple of get togethers I'm having for the ladies at church. I love decorating for Christmas!!! I'm such a girl who loves glitter and shiny objects, so Christmas is perfect! I made my own tree topper this year, and I kinda like it. It's a flower arrangement of sorts with glittery poinsettias and some glittered birch twigs and swirly twigs. I think it looks like a funky centerpiece has been stuck up on the tree.
I don't have too much Christmas shopping to do this year, which is cool, but I need to get it done while the stores still have the things I need to get.
Here's a question: who is the hardest person you have to shop for at Christmas?
Enjoy all the beautiful lights and decorations that are out this time of year, and listen to some Christmas songs!
I love Christmas decorating, too! I made my own snow village this year. Fun. And it's a toss-up between the father-in-law and brother-in-law. Miss you!
Well, I haven't posted in a while, so here you go! Kevin and I had so much fun in Florida! Once we got back home though, the fall weather seemed very cold. I was ready to see the changing leaves though, which was nice!
Last weekend I was very honored to do the flowers for Stephen and Abby's wedding. I'm so excited for them! This weekend I have another wedding to make arrangements for, but it is much smaller. A widow and a widower at church are getting married. It's very cute and sweet. It'll be a small wedding though so the flowers should be pretty easy.
Other than that, we've just been up to the usual, painting and deciding what we want to do with the house. I'm starting to look forward to the Christmas season: decorating, shopping, and coming up with a Christmas card. It will be here soon!
What's new with you? Hope you have a beautiful week :)
It was great to see you & kevin last week. Thanks for making the drive!! Guess what was in our mail when we got home....the birth annoucement I had sent to you:) I'll send it to the correct address this time!!
Well, I figured I should update, but there's not much new going on. We've been working on the house some more and trying to get finished painting. We bought a big house, which I absolutely love, but it's taking a while to paint everything. Last weekend we finished the guest room which I'm very pleased with. So, if anyone wants to visit us - we've got a room for you! This week I'm painting some more trim in the kitchen area and some doors.
Kevin has another conference next week. This time it is in Orlando! I'm very excited about it, because we are planning on going to Disney World and some other fun places. Combining his work and our vacations is very convenient and saves us a lot of money! We also hope to head out to Tampa one day and try to catch up with some old friends.
This weekend my family is having dinner at my parents' house for my birthday! Mom is making my favorite food, yeah! Well, that's about all that's going on here. What's up with you?
Do you have any advice on where to buy a house? We are considering both Hopkinsville and Clarksville. It will depend on where we decide to worship. Any advice would be appreciated. We are completely unfamiliar with the area. I want to be in a safe/nice area of town and that can be hard to know from a first impression.
Btw, do you know if Kevin has a some baseball card pages he doesn't use anymore or does he use most all of them? If he has extras, I was going to see if I could use a few, but if he doesn't, I'll just go out and get some packs at Wal-Mart.
I can't WAIT for the kittens. I love cats. However, I did resolve that I would never have another one after I married Mr. Allergic to cats. He was very open to the idea of an outside cat, so now I'm all excited. See you tomorrow at 3:00!
Well, I'm back home from DC. We had a lot of fun and were able to see a lot of stuff, even though he had to work some. I was able to go on the tour of the Pentagon with all the military people at Kevin's conference. That was cool. We were exhausted everyday though from walking so much, but it was worth it.
A side note: if anyone decides to take small children to a war memorial or to tour the Federal buildings, please inform them that it is not a playground! Okay, that's all I'll say about that.
Our trip home was a little hectic. We were going to get a few hours down the road on Saturday night and then finish the drive between worship today. Well, Kevin's guard unit was activated to go to Louisiana to be security after hurricane Gustav finishes whatever destruction he's going to do. So he drove all night and we got home about 3 this morning. We slept a few hours and then I helped him get his stuff together before he left for Glasgow to meet up with his unit. I just wanted to let our friends know so you all could keep him in your prayers. He'll be gone somewhere between 2 weeks and a month.
Anyway, if I figure out how to post pictures sometime soon, I'll provide some sights of our trip. Have a wonderful week!
