Bowling Green Daily News... 12-17-08 10:52pm EST

See what was happening in that picture

What that article doesn't tell you is that the only reason they reached record numbers was because of Megan's persistence and participation from our church. There would have only been 500 recipients of those gift, just like there were last year if not for those factors. I think this program showed me just how big Megan's heart is (she was in tears telling me that there were 230 seniors who had signed up that might not get presents this year) and i think it also showed her how far a group of loving individuals are willing to go to give even a few people a little bit of happiness. I think Megan regained a lot of confidence in Christians (and hopefully the world at large) through this event. She was hesitant at first to bring the task to our church, and I understood her hesitance, but now she seems much more willing to pitch them her ideas. Thank you everyone who participated (If any of you read this blog).

The link works now...
slave_of_jesus_jdbThe link didn't work for me. Wish it did.
teathymeThat's so cool! Megan's pretty neat ;)!
psyrealityThat is seriously awesome. I feel a little ashamed that I didn't think about this before...
emotionalalienationthats awesome
thewifeofbudWow, that is so neat! Great work!
fullofgracethat's really wonderful!

thecellardoorthat's pretty sweet to bring the church in on it. Sometimes I think we've forgotten what "true religion in the sight of the Lord" is. You know?

The worst part of the election... 11-07-08 12:17pm EST
The end always sucks. It's always so anticlimactic. YAY this guy is the president...in 2 months...eh. Then you have to look at all the signs that the campaigns are too lazy and broke to pick up from along side every city road for at least another six months. The winner tries to find a moment of privacy while the losers scramble to reform themselves and point fingers at everyone on the planet. And one unique to this campaign is that everyone is afraid to say words like "black or "tan" or "chocolate" or "shadow" or "black"...black. Maybe once Obama's been around for a while people will be comfortable with language which is essential to giving a physical description of the man (another funny thing "the man" and "whitey" are about to be terms of the past, at least they should be). Anyway...
wrexcrackah please!
emotionalalienationthe election hype was bad here...im glad i wasnt in the states for it...im so glad its over...

Losing my mind... 09-28-08 08:48pm EST
It's 8:50 pm. I have a paper due in the morning. I'm not working on it. I haven't turned in a late assignment...ever.
psyrealityYou have NEVER turned in a late assignment? Seriously? Dude, I need your genes/work ethic/freakish non-humanity *laugh*

Time for an all nighter?
emotionalalienationoh dear...do you have ANY of it done?
quiltedmamahow long a paper? did you get it done? did you not get my (and steve's) ability to sweettalk teachers- or do you just choose to actually do your work???
mastermindif you never turn it in you still wont have ever turned in a late assignment.
el_magnificohard to argue with logic
eternalsunshinejust kill the first woman you see and offer her as a burnt offering to your teacher.
divineharmonyMy Last semester of college, I remember writing 4 Research papers two days before Graduation. That was hell!!!But I still have the degree that I will never ever use!!
skinnsEvery one likes the rays BECAUSE they beat the red sucks. And don't whine about the waiting all that time. Talk to the Cleveland fans. There are the true blue fans. GO TRIBE.
skinnsHow many pages is the paper, where is the info coming from, and is their a view that the paper has to take because of the professor? Never mind, its all over now.

Quick, jump on the bandwagon! 09-01-08 02:08pm EST

Before anyone realizes you weren't already there!

In addition, to make it perfectly clear, I am not, and probably never will be a Tampa Bay fan. And I think that Tampa Bay fans are pathetic, even the long haul ones, because their haul has been barely over a decade, if they've been in it the whole time. To see the Red Sox win the world series I had to wait 20 years, my father had to wait almost 60 and his father never got to see it. It's easy to switch your loyalties to whichever team is winning. In my eyes Devil Ray fans are no better than all the greasy tag along Yankee fans and bandwagon Red Sox fans I run into in Kentucky.

col_graffGreat someplace for discouraged YANKEE Fans
mountaingirlGrrrrr
chessmanThey've been my second-favorite baseball team since their inception. Of course, they've never been competition before, just padding for the record...
natethegreatsox not treating you right?
phat_manWhat's funny about the Rays being #1 is that they're still selling less than 50% of the seats for their home games.
chessmanWhich is ironic, since the Trop is the *only* comfortable outdoor-ish place within several hundred miles, at least this time of year.
col_graffThe problem with the rays is they have built up there record against the
col_graffweak teams in the al east (22-7 .733 against the Orioles and jays 62-44 .585 against everone else
jessdugasI'm going to see them play the Red Sox in a couple weeks. im so anxious to see the sox kick their butts.
natethegreatif it's any consolation, i haven't jumped on the wagon yet. i am OFFICIALLY glad the shield is back though
