I won the Catan game on Tuesday. I got a couple of good placements, then got a sheep port, and was still a come from behind with my opponents being at 9 points for 4 rounds. I got 6 soldiers, and a vp for a library that did the trick.

A Russian, a German, and a Jew are lost in the desert. The Russian says, "I'm hot, I"m tired, I'm thirsty - I must have vodka." The German says, "I'm hot, I'm tired, I'm thirsty - I must have beer." The Jew says, "I'm hot, I'm tired, I'm thirsty - I must have diabetes."


cruisingmom	Are you complaining (is it Friday) or are you jewish? I have not done the 'Catan thang' yet so I can not comment or pick.
sharon	I hope I don't get slapped for asking this, but is the Catan game theory similar to Risk or something? That was a game I had to play PRE-children...not enough hours in my day.
weekendsongservice	wow, winning with 6 soldiers? neat move.
iammountainfolk	Catan is somewhat analogous to Risk, but isn't bout war at all. It is worth taking a look at for sure, and even the long games only take 2 hours. Typical game length is about 1 - 1.5 hours

leelers	that's so neat! what was his name? there sure are laws around here! they are actually distant cousins to my husband! brother nick is now the preacher there at oak grove! he and his wife are doing well! we live right across from the building! nick's brother todd is having a lot of health problems, but the rest of the family is in good health!

waxtadpole	antsy?...10 minutes ago my son was jigging around the xmas tree, holding a 3 lb jug of plastic bebe's for his air rifle and you guessed it, spilled them on the carpet. Simultaneously, Gabby was dancing to Bruce Springsteen's version of "Santa Claus is Comin' to Town" and fell on the pile of bebe's....don't talk to me about antsy, Mr.
waxtadpole	No...the bebe's are for an air rifle, which Drew, my son has. I got it at Walmart in sporting goods. I don't remember how much they cost, but it probably wasn't much, because I wouldn't have paid much. The length of time they last is based on how often you keep refilling your magazine. Drew doesn't use his air rifle too much, because he's only allowed to use it if I'm with him or my dad is with him. BTW...Drew is a boy and Gabby, is my daughter. I think somehow I confused you previously into thinking I had two sons.

I have not gotten to play Catan for months. I have teased Taylor, (our preacher) we will see if he joins us.

Still no word on Grand son yet.

the_mom	And this post brings up that question that has been haunting me for years. Why do roaches die on their backs with their feet in the air? Do they feel death coming so they roll over and strike the death pose? Or do they somehow get turned upside down, can't get back on their feet and die of hunger?

hrharris	I say again, I could NEVER live in that part of the country. We've been a cold streak, highs about 50 to 55 and that is cold enough for me, especially when it's windy. Brrr!
