I don't know exactly how many posts I had before he deleted them, but I'm guessing this would be 100, or so I am calling it my 100th post.
I went to a concert last night. Saw a trio of black females called Santogold sing something of a hiphop/reggae sound. then Nora Jones came on, then was Jack Johnson, then Sheryl Crow, and finally The Beastie Boys rocked the house. I get home at 0100, got back up at 0525 for work.
I'm considering going to see the Virginia Symphony Orchestra next Thursday. Next Sat. is the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and the following Sat, the 15th I will travel to D.C. to see AC/DC.
Welcome home Micah from his 2nd tour to Iraq.
I'm very disappointed to learn I won't be voting in this year's election. I was told that since I was registered and voted by absentee ballot 4 yrs ago that I should be good for this year. Negative. I called the FL voting office (since I claim Tampa as my home of residence still), they said I was never even registered for the last election, my name wasn't in the system.
So someone in my chain of command dropped the ball while I was in Iraq in 2004. And I had made the call a day after the registration deadline. I've yet to make my vote count in 3 times of being eligible.
I'm currently in my 5th week of clinicals, having worked in angiography, fluoroscopy, the E.R., and at a clinic at the Naval base in Norfolk.
That is all.
Carry on. |

I know the heading of my previous entry stated I update monthly, and here it's been 2 1/2 months, but I've been waiting to make a post worthy of reading.
As you can see, I've been going to alot of concerts this summer, over the past 6 weeks or so. Including: 311, Snoop Dogg, Sara Bareillas, Counting Crows, Maroon 5, Dave Matthews, Jimmy Buffett, The Four Tops, Eve 6, Belinda Carlisle, Human League, Naked Eyes, ABC, Flock of Seagulls, Poison, Dokken, Disturbed, Chris Cornell, Slipknot, Linkin Park, Atreyu, Five Finger Death Punch, Bruce Springsteen, Journey, Heart, Cheap Trick, and B.B. King. And there were a dozen other lesser known bands that also played, incuding 10 Years, Mastodon, and Dragonfire, or something. I kind of went to see Toby Keith. I could hear him outside the stadium, but my friend had my ticket so I couldn't get in. But other ones I was going to see but didn't work out for some reason or another include: The Commodores, BelBivDevoe, EnVogue, Billy Idol, Eddie Money, B-52s, Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Live, Motley Crue, Ratt, Sevendust, Saving Abel, Hatebreed, Montgomery Gentry, Toby Keith, 3 Doors Down, Hinder, and Finger 11. And others coming up I'm planning on seeing are: Neville Brothers, Dave Koz, Trans Siberian Orchestra, Flogging Mollies, AC/DC, and tonight I'm going to see Switchfoot, 3rd Day and Jars of Clay.
Others I'd love to see would be: Metallica, The Eagles, Beastie Boys, Korn, Ozzy, Michael Jackson, Kid Rock, Tom Petty, CCR, Boyz II Men. Can't think of anyone else, but I'm sure there are plenty more. Someone I know is going to see NKOTB. So as you can see, I have a varied music selection.
Amber came to spend Labor Day weekend with me. We had a great time, took her somewhere expensive this time, went to Busch Gardens. But it was free, gotta love the military perks. It's going to be a long 4 months till I see her again.
We know yesterday was the 7yr anniversary of 9/11. Never forget.
Today is my 8 yr anniversary of being employed by the World's Finest Navy. 12 more years to retirement.
I have one more week of classes, then I go to clinicals for 6 months.
I'm in 9 fantasy football leagues this year. I've never done more than 3. I have no idea who all is on my teams, since I pretty much have everyone that is draft worthy somewhere in my 9 teams.
That is all.
Carry on. |

I'm now half way through the didactic (class) part of my school. I go to clinicals in Sept. for 6 months. Had 4 tests last week and one this week, but this is a short week due to the holiday. I'll be heading to Tampa on Thurs., coming back Sunday.
My girlfriend came to visit recently. She asked me to take her out somewhere expensive. So I took her to the gas station. That's a joke, btw.
What's with all the natural disasters over the past few years? Hurricane Katrina, the tsunami in Sri Lanka or whatever, monsoon hit somewhere recently, cyclone in Myanmar, earth quakes in Japan and China, the flooding of the midwest, tornadoes everywhere, forest fires in CA, NC, AZ, and FL. This is esp. bad now that the price of produce is going up.
With the prices of gas and food going up, the stock market crashing, the housing marketing plummeting, do you think it is all, or even partly the result of 9/11? I went to visit Ground Zero a few years ago. I remember someone saying that NYC (which in turn is the U.S., and then the world) loses so many billions of dollars a day because of the buildings that fell, b/c the companies lost all business there, the business HQ of the world.
I'm looking forward to some new movies coming out this year or next...The Dark Knight, Jurassic Park 4, Shrek 4, G.I. Joe, The Mummy 3, the next X-men movie (Wolverine, I believe). And I heard this morning that there are plans in the making for a prequel and a sequel to the movie 300.
That is all.
Carry on. |

Here are some interesting things I found about Democrats, and a joke at the end. And I'm sure I'll take some heat about it, but I don't care.
22 WAYS TO BE A GOOD DEMOCRAT
1. You have to be against capital punishment, but support abortion on
demand.
2. You have to believe that businesses create oppression and
governments create prosperity.
3. You have to believe that guns in the hands of law-abiding Americans
are more of a threat than U.S. nuclear weapons technology in the
hands of Chinese and North Korean communists.
4. You have to believe that there was no art before Federal funding
5. You have to believe that global temperatures are less affected by
documented cyclical changes in the earth's climate and more affected by
soccer moms driving SUV's.
6. You have to believe that gender roles are artificial but being
homosexual is natural.
7. You have to believe that the AIDS virus is spread by a lack of
federal funding.
8. You have to believe that the same teacher who can't teach fourth
graders how to read is somehow qualified to teach those same kids about
sex.
9. You have to believe that hunters don't care about nature, but
activists who have never been outside of San Francisco do.
10. You have to believe that self-esteem is more important than
actually doing something to earn it.
11. You have to believe that Mel Gibson spent $25 million of his own
money to make 'The Passion of the Christ' for financial gain only.
12. You have to believe the NRA is bad because it supports certain
parts of the Constitution, while the ACLU is good because it supports
certain parts of the Constitution.
13. You have to believe that taxes are too low, but ATM fees are too
high.
14. You have to believe that Margaret Sanger and Gloria Steinem are
more important to American history than Thomas Jefferson, Thomas
Edison, and A.G. Bell.
15. You have to believe that standardized tests are racist, but racial
quotas and set-asides are not.
16. You have to believe that Hillary Clinton is normal and is a very
nice person.
17. You have to believe that the only reason socialism hasn't worked
anywhere it's been tried is because the right people haven't been in
charge.
18. You have to believe conservatives telling the truth belong in
jail, but a liar and a sex offender belonged in the White House.
19. You have to believe that homosexual parades displaying drag,
transvestites, and bestiality should be constitutionally protected, and
manger scenes at Christmas should be illegal.
20. You have to believe that illegal Democrat Party funding by the
Chinese Government is somehow in the best interest to the United
States .
21. You have to believe that this message is a part of a vast, right
wing conspiracy.
22. You have to believe that it's okay to give Federal workers the day
off on Christmas Day but it's not okay to say 'Merry Christmas.'
Our Social Security
Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social
Security (FICA) Program. He promised:
1.) That participation in the Program would be
Completely voluntary,
2.) That the participants would only have to pay 1% of the first $1,400 of their annual Incomes into the Program.
3.) That the money the participants elected to put
into the Program would be deductible from
their income for tax purposes each year,
4.) That the money the participants put into the independent 'Trust Fund' rather than into the general operating fund, and therefore, would only be used to fund the Social Security Retirement Program, and no other Government program.
5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees would never be taxed as income.
Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are
now receiving a Social Security check every month --
and then finding that we are getting taxed on 85% of
the money we paid to the Federal government to 'put
away' -- you may be interested in the following:
> >
> > -------------------------------------------------------------
Q: Which Political Party took Social Security from the
independent 'Trust Fund' and put it into the
general fund so that Congress could spend it?
A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the democratically controlled House and Senate.
Q: Which Political Party eliminated the income tax deduction for Social Security (FICA) withholding?
A: The Democratic Party.
Q: Which Political Party started taxing Social Security annuities?
A: The Democratic Party, wit h Al Gore casting the 'tie-breaking' deciding vote as President of the Senate, while he was Vice President of the US
Q: Which Political Party decided to start giving
annuity payments to immigrants?
A: Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party.
immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65,
began to receive Social Security payments! The
Democratic Party gave these payments to the even though they never paid a dime into it!
Then, after violating the original contract (FICA), the Democrats
turn around and tell you that the Republicans want to take your Social Security away!
And the worst part about it is uninformed citizens believe it!
If enough people receive this, maybe a seed of awareness will be planted and maybe changes will evolve. Maybe not, some Democrats are awfully sure to keep it 'as is'
The Lie Clock
A man died and went to heaven. As he stood in front of St. Peter at the Pearly Gates, he saw a huge wall of clocks behind him. He asked, "What are all those clocks?"
St. Peter answered, "Those are Lie-Clocks. Everyone on Earth has a Lie-Clock. Every time you lie the hands on your clock will move."
"Oh," said the man, "Whose clock is that?"
"That's Mother Teresa's. The hands have never moved, indicating that she never told a lie."
"Incredible," said the man. "And whose clock is that one?"
St. Peter responded, "That's Abraham Lincoln's clock. The hands have moved twice, telling us that Abe told only two lies in his entire life."
"Where's Hillary Clinton's clock?" asked the man.
"Hillary's clock is in Jesus' office. He's using it as a ceiling fan ."
That is all.
Carry on.
