In other news, only 1 more paper and 2 classes left! WOOHOO!!!!!! And you know what? I think I'm going to skip the last paper. I believe that I can get at least a B without it (and will definitely pass regardless), and that's worth not doing the paper to me.
This just doesn't seem real... |

I just learned that Pepperidge Farms has begun selling Tim Tams (imported from Australia under the Pepperidge Farms brand) at Target. And I went to Target today for other stuff. Uh oh. But don't worry, I only bought one package...And I just had my first Tim Tam Slam in several years (with milk).
TASTY!! I miss Australia.

So the other night I finished reading Isaac's Storm by Erik Larson (author of The Devil in the White City, a fascinating look at the 1893 Chicago World's Fair and America's first serial killer). Isaac's Storm is about the 1900 Galveston hurricane.
Wow. Absolutely fascinating, and Erik Larson's my new favorite history writer. The section where he describes being in the middle of the storm was probably one of the most vividly terrifying accounts of a true story I've ever read.
Anyway, he mentions the Rosenberg Library in Galveston as his best source for material, and from their website I found the Galveston and Texas History Center website that has a ton of photos to add to the story.
Highly recommend both the book and the center's website.
Incidentally, there are also interesting photos from Ike cleanup on the Galveston Historical Foundation website. |

Thank you all! It was a huge relief, even if I didn't think I failed :)
Now only 4 classes and 8 assignments separate me from 'freedom.' Woohoo! :) |
