Anyone want to go to Toronto? Say like, this weekend? :D We have some emergency work needing to be done and my thanksgiving plans were a bit up in the air so I'm thinking of just turning it into a nice long vacation afterwards. :) I've never been to Canada so it's a good opportunity and I just happened to notice there are some ski resorts an hour away. I sense much fun coming this week.
After Canada, O-H-I-O! Maybe I'll see Drew Carey :)
Yes, I've been to Canada but I can't help but think that they stayed loyal to King George III while we threw off the shakles of British Rule. They should have joined us and formed an even GREATER United States.
You want an internet stalker? Hrm. And spiritual encouragement was definitely the best choice. You'll just have to get some more over Thanksgiving in Houston!! *hopeful look*
Hey! I'm not sure how your sched would work with work, but mine (along with SW availability) only allows for Dec 1-4 or maybe Dec 15-18. I would prefer the latter, but I'm not technically off on the 15th, but could prob arrange. Let me know what you think please! Hope your day is great and that your wk is off to a good start!
Sorry if I've been a bit unresponsive to some of your emails. Internet and free time have been quite sparse these past couple of weeks. Oh the things I take for granted in my land of luxury. I wish I had kept an actual journal.
My time in England is drawing to a close very shortly but the experience has been quite wonderful despite its challenges. The week before I was to leave a bit of a bomb was dropped on me. It seems I was not only going to be leading the most aggressive install schedule that we have ever had to do with the highest level of visibility in our company that can be had, but doing so in a country I had never navigated before while taking care of the VP of the customer's Advanced Engineering dept who decided to come along at the last minute from the U.S. to micromanage the install and who just so happens to be handicapped and wheelchair bound.
Now you who know me personally hopefully know that I've got a kind heart and will do anything for anyone in real need. My biggest challenge comes when the person in need of helping just so happens to be the biggest jerkface I have met in a long while. On the one hand my heart goes out to him and looks to help as a care giver, but how do you do that when the hand wants to reach out and push his chair down the stairs :P. Now I understand this poor soul has a considerably rougher life than most, my heart bleeds for that. I'm an equal opportunity hater though. A jerk is jerk regardless of ethnicity, religious beliefs, or physical stature. Whatever your lot in life, don't be mean. You never know when you'll need a helping hand.
"Help me help you." This has begun to be my phrase of choice for obvious reasons :)
I realize most of you will echo the mountain of sermons I have been preaching to myself this entire time. "Do good unto all men", "heap coals of fire", etc. I encourage those because hearing it from multiple sources might just make doing so a little easier :P Someone who doesn't have this same challenge speak up and let us all know what the secret is. :)
Ultimately I guess if you have to work, despite the conditions, you might as well work someplace with enjoyable scenery rather than a stuffy 3'x 3' spot of carpeting in cubicle land. Besides, you never know what good gifts God will set before you on your way.
I wish you all the best. I'll be back soon'ish. I have to... they'll deport me if I stay too long :)
You do have a good attitude despite your hardships the past couple weeks. Just look outside, take a deep breath and take in that beautiful scenery! Stay safe!
“Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve. Col. 3:23-24 (does the help? :) )
Sorry internet communication has been a bit touch and go all. Heading to Milton Keynes today! Guess it's more modern *ick but it'll be a nice train ride through the country side. I'll be done by Wednesday hopefully then can flip these 5am-11pm work days into being a total tourist!
Had a most wonderful day with brethren yesterday. Isn't it great, The Tie that Binds? :)
yes, God's design for us to have family anywhere and at anytime is more than I ever I thought I'd need and certainly more than I deserve! I hope you're taking pictures!
Originally I had my favorite Hippy, John Denver's rendition up here but he got bumped once I found Sister Hazel doing a quick cover. Bumping is allowed but people remember please... Hippies are people too.
Check out the other covers. JD's classic of course, Chantal Kreviazuk is quite melodious, and The Gimme Gimmes are well, you'll see...
Traveling to other countries will do that to you...make you want to move there, that is. You'd probably be able to find a way to move to London way before I found a way to move to NZ...Keep enjoying :)
